Walk the quarry to El Polín Spring

This route is a near-loop of 1.25 miles. It is rated easy, with a couple modest hill inclines.

El Polín Spring is one of the park’s most peaceful places, as well as extremely historic to the history of San Francisco, and a hotspots for dozens of bird species — who will probably be singing when you get there. Your return path is through MacArthur Meadow, another extremely serene setting.

This route starts on the Ecology Trail right behind the Inn at the Presidio. Then it deviates a bit, to stay on low ground through some interesting open spaces.
