Privacy Policy

Here's how we handle it.

Privacy at P.tours

Last revised 15 July 2022.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Data we receive from users of the website, presidio.tours (the “Site”).

To be Very Transparent About It
This Site allows you to freely supply some Personal Data to the site owner through a contact form. (You might submit your name and email address, for example.) Our website also utilizes Google Analytics, but the part of the data which might be possible to identify you is called an IP address, and that IP address is anonymized by Google. Therefore your computer’s IP address is never visible to the owner of this Site, and the precise IP address is never saved by Google.

You may be thinking, what about my geo-location on the Site’s map of the park?  Well, we don’t record that Data anywhere. It is only used to generate a visual indicator of your position in the browser, and/or to calculate the distance to your destination. Our organization cannot know where you are. We hate surveillance as much as you do.

Why We Do That

Well, we only use your contact details to reply to your message. That’s fair, right?  There is no marketing list. We won’t send you any newsletters.

We use IP addresses (once they are anonymized) to evaluate how folks navigate our site and what content people find most useful, in aggregate. Measuring how many people have used the Site, when they use it, and what browsers they use, helps us improve the Site in future iterations.

When we Disclose Personal Information

Ummm… how about never? We will NOT disclose your name or email address outside our organization.

Our lawyers insist that we point out two exclusions here: A user’s Personal Data may be used for legal purposes by us in court (or in the stages leading to possible legal action) with a third party arising from improper use of this Site. You also should be aware that if we received a formal court order from official public authorities, then we may be required to reveal your Personal Data to comply with the law.

What about the GDPR or CCPA laws?

If you contact us to audit your data, we can tell you already: we have the name as you submitted it on our Contact form, and the email address you send it with.

If you contact us to delete your data, we will delete whatever record we have of your name & email address inside our organization. But there was never any storage of your IP address anywhere on our systems for us to delete. It was anonymized before it ever got to us, and it was never recorded on a server disk in Google’s cloud.
